Sophie Ying

Sophie Ying

Ms. Ying provides U.S. representation and strategic advice to international investors, startups, and businesses on a variety of corporate and transactional matters, and takes lead roles in due diligence and investigations in real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions.

She also represents U.S.-based clients in litigated matters, including real estate claims and health care disputes. Additionally, she has a strong interest in data privacy and security, especially mobile app data security and cross-border data breach and data flows. She is certified as an information privacy professional.

Before founding Future Discovery Law Group, Ms. Ying was a business lawyer and in-house counsel of a multinational corporation. She advised clients on matters in M&A, FDA and HIPAA compliance, and cross-border construction projects in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

Ms. Ying received Master of Laws degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2010 and the University of Washington in 2015.

Heng Yong

Mr. Yong advises privately held companies, fund sponsors, and family offices on M&A, strategic transactions, private fund formation, capitalization and exempt securities offerings, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

His work includes buy-side and sell-side deals, investment structuring, and counseling on shareholder rights and corporate control matters. He supports clients and investors through business planning and structuring, capitalization, and liquidity events.

Heng earned his J.D. from Regent University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently licensed to practice law in Virginia and Washington.
