Qian (Sophie) Ying is the founding partner of Future Discovery Law Group, providing strategic legal representation to a diverse clientele—from AI startups to international investors. Previously serving as in-house counsel and an EPC attorney for a multinational corporation, she brings formidable expertise in M&A, financing, corporate governance, and cross-border construction projects across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

She also represents U.S. clients in litigated matters, focusing on real estate and contract disputes. Furthermore, as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), she provides critical counsel on mobile app data security, cross-border data breaches, and international data flows, navigating the complex needs of tech-forward businesses.

A dedicated community leader, Sophie serves as the District 8 Governor for the Washington State Bar Association (2026-2027 Term). She is also the founder and past president of the Seattle Chinese Bar Association, where she built a vibrant regional 501(c)(3) nonprofit of over 130 members.

She earned her LL.M. in Health Law from the University of Washington in 2015 and an LL.M. in Civil and Commercial Law from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2010.

Mr. Yong advises privately held companies, fund sponsors, and family offices on M&A, strategic transactions, private fund formation, capitalization and exempt securities offerings, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

His work includes buy-side and sell-side deals, investment structuring, and counseling on shareholder rights and corporate control matters. He supports clients and investors through business planning and structuring, capitalization, and liquidity events.

Heng earned his J.D. from Regent University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently licensed to practice law in Virginia and Washington.
